There are a lot of things that don’t matter anymore, you’ve realized. Not what you look like, who you are, or even what the surface world is like. Especially what the surface world is like, because the fact that there is a surface world is all that matters. You don’t care how long it takes, you’re going to get back up there. Even if it means yet another day of surviving the test chambers that crazy AI keeps putting you through. She can throw robotic sentry turrets at you and threaten you with neurotoxin all she likes. One of these days, you’re going to use your portal gun and open a wormhole out of this place. Until the opportunity arises, though, you just have to keep testing.

FFM, day 24. I don't like this. The challenge was to write fan fiction. And now I know why I have never written any, even though I've been tempted to in the past. It makes me feel kind of gross, to be honest. Also, the fact that the challenge was just "Fan fiction: go." didn't help. With no direction, my brain went everywhere, from Stargate to Doctor Who to Discworld to Dragaera, and I settled on Portal because it was the only thing I could get more than a vague idea out of. And this is hella vague as it is. So.

I agree wholeheartedly... I guess that's why they're challenges, though. I do approve of Portal though. I think it matched the game's tone very well. :)
